Erasmus+ Programme

Erasmus+ is a new EU programme in the field of education, training, youth and sport, for the period 2014-2020.

Erasmus+ Programme substitutes earlier EU programmes:

• The Lifelong Learning Programme (Erasmus, Leonardo da Vinci, Comenius and Grundtvig)
• The Youth in Action Programme
• International Cooperation Programmes: Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, Alfa, Edulink and bilateral programmes and Sports in relation to the activity of the Programme exclusively related to the field of sport.

Erasmus+ provides grants for wide range of actions and activities in the field of education, training, youth and sport. The programme gives an opportunity for students, trainees, pedagogical staff, youth workers and volunteers to spend a period in foreign country and to improve their knowledges, skills and employability. The programme supports organizations to take part in project cooperation and within partnership to share inovative in education, training and youth. New action – sport supports grassroots project activities and by way of transnational partnership it will solve problems like doping, violence and racizm.

Actions of programme Erasmus+ are divided into centralized actions and decentralized actions.

• The decentralized actions are managed by National agencies in each programme participating country.
• The centralized actions are mahaged at European level by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency located in Brussels (EACEA). The applicants for cooperation with countries out of EU and other programme countries (so called partner countries) can find International Contact Points in each National Agency and in each partner country National Erasmus+ Offices are created.

Erasmus+ is open to wide range of organization in all sectors of education, training, youth and sport. Whatever Slovak public, privat or non-profit organization worked in these fields can apply finance from programme on conditions which are announced in relevant Invitation to application.
